RE: Do ute riders have a worse public image then sport riders?

Funny this topic came up. Just yesterday 3 of us went out, did the usual trail system and came across a fella walking two yellow labs. Neither dog was leashed of course. As we passed by i was in the lead and slowed down to a crawl offering him and his dogs a wide berth. As luck would have it one of the dogs bolted out in front of my brother in laws quad causing him to hit the brakes and stop for a second. This in turn caused the dog owner to yell out to us "YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE!" Of course its ok for him however to break the city bylaw himself and let his dogs run free and******everywhere. He had 2 dogs and no plastic bag in his hand. My thoughts on this: I have been riding for over 30 years now. I have come to realize you CANNOT change the general publics ANTI powersports attitude. We cant expect them to accept something they dont understand or care to understand. I no longer do the polite head nod or wave as i ride past dog walkers, joggers or mountain bikers. I have accepted the fact they dont like me and i in turn dont like them, they can all kiss my 800 cc V-twin tail pipe because i just dont give a rats behind what they think anymore.

RE: Gade vs AC 1000

CC i'm holding steady at 230.... for now lol. YourAdd, i opted for a complete set of Taylor Made Burner woods and irons instead of the Elkas. I started playing golf again this past summer. :C

RE: Gade vs AC 1000

I am possibly eyeing a Gade 800R for next fall. CC I would recomend you ride one first to see if you like the suspension. Handling and suspension can be overly harsh, compared to the outlander 800 the Renegade rides like a saddle thrown over a saw horse. (reminds me of the 400ex i had) The power is great and it cuts nice but for all day riding the constant jarring can be a chore. I may switch to a Camo Outlander 800xt for next winter if all things go well for me this year financially. I miss the comfort of the big utilities, at 40 yrs old i dont need to come in first anymore. :) CC i dont know if that was the R in the vid or not, sorry. Happy New Year everyone!

Gade vs AC 1000

After the gade rider figured out how to keep from ending up on his backside this race ended up pretty much like i thought. Of course on the trails this wouldnt even be a contest, trust me. ;) Gade vs AC 1000

RE: Its not all bad...maybe

She is HOT CC, i agree with you on that, its amazing how far a hot chick with a cute smile can go in politics. But as far as governing your great country, Tina Fey would do just as well and maybe even better. (and Tina is HOT too!);) Whatever happened to the Kennedys, Rosevelts and Eisenhowers of the past, surely they are rolling in their graves when someone as unqualified as Palin gets that close to holding the title of vice president of the greatest country in the world.

Palin can see Canada from her house too!

RE: Its not all bad...maybe

Now she can get it out of her system and still have time to come up with a good campaign for 2012 It scares me to think ANYONE in the country could possibly think that ditz should run again. But hey, she can see Russia from her house so why not. Watch for the looks of shock on the news anchors faces, priceless stupidity.

RE: Another world

...the slide of this great nation will slip into a natural abyss of mistrust, and squander..... Those are all great descriptions of Dubya, mind you it would be quite easy to add to that list. The next 8 years of Obamas presidency should right alot of the wrongs from Georgies regime. It will be nice to have an intelligent well spoken president representing your country for a change.

Religions are all fake ass little stories .... I like to call them ferry tails to live by! Sorta like jack and jill or old yeller for adults. ;) As for Obama, you can blame Dubya for his emergence to the throne.

RE: Ridding in early snow

Honda utility quads dont have the power to turn and spin big tires. I remember we went out one time, about a foot plus of snow on the ground. The Foreman 450 that was with us had 27" Blackwaters all the way around. He went into a deep snow covered ditch (that the rest of us had already been through) and throttled it wide open to let those tires dig, problem is the tires dug too much, they didnt spin at all. All I could hear was this horrible sound coming from the hydraulic tranny whinning and whinning, tires didnt turn so much as half a turn in that ditch. Lesson learned that day. Ever hear a honda tranny slipping? its a horrendous sound.

RE: A Liberal Supermajority *scary*

You mean to keep out the mind-control Liberals? Don't work, already been tried in Canada. ;) I am not predicting doomsday, just hard times for us ALL if the Liberal @ssholes take over this country. And the riots will occur when Obama is assassinated. Just in case you missed it, Canada elected its second strait RIGHT wing prime minister last week. I do agree however that if Obama gets assassinated there will be hell to pay, but doubtful any outfall will reach outside the 4 or 5 major American cities.

RE: A Liberal Supermajority *scary*

Stock up on ammo, buy some gold and silver (the dollar won't be worth a dime), and store away food and water. We will need it when the riots break out. Heh heh, Woods i revel in your doomsday scenarios! You forgot to tell everyone to line their hats with tin foil? ;)

RE: Anyone in here having luck this year deer hunting?

30: What kind of bow are you using? Looking at a used Excaliber cross bow right now. Its a recurve, no pulleys and the price is ok. I will post some pics when i make my purchase.

RE: Anyone in here having luck this year deer hunting?

I'm switching to bow hunting this year mainly because the season is so much longer it offers me more time to get out. Up my way the controlled shotgun hunt is 1 week long, bow season however is nearly 3 months long. I plan on spending some quality time in the woods come Nov and Dec, hopefully pics will follow. ;)

RE: this place is dead!!!!!

Maybe its just that everything there is to talk about has already been beaten to death. I mean how many times can you argue over which atv tire is better. The most interesting threads have always been the ride pics that people post, i dont see them very often anymore. And of course without Woods posting very often these days there is nobody to make fun of either :B

RE: Where Have All The Good Times Gone?

I was operating my machine today at work, when the classic VH song, came on today. Made me think: I'm making more money than ever, but I'm bareley keeping up with expences. No extra time or money for riding or anything else fun. This sucks! Anyone else feel this way? I'm starting to feel like a robot, all work, and no play. I guess I so feel lucky to be working. A lot of people are losing everything they own. I ask myself the same questions every day Grizz. I havent been out on the Renegade since June, bought a brand spankin new set of Taylor Made Burners this spring and used them a grand total of ONE time. That one day on the golf course cost me $1500 lol. Been working 48 to 72 hour weeks, the wife is full time as well and yes, i do feel like a robot. On Mondays i wake up and the first thought that comes to mind is 'here we go again'. It annoys me to no end that my wife and I have a 'tidy' combined income and like yourself dont feel like we're getting anywhere, thats the most frustrating part of it.

RE: Honda Finally did it

We can argue this till the cows come home. Truth is Honda utility atv's have undersized frames bolted to back breaking suspensions, limited ground clearance, 3 wd, and are greatly underpowered compared to the industry standard atvs. The cvt trannies that most manufacturers use are as close to bulletproof as one can get and are repaired at a tenth of the price of one honda hydraulic tranny. Any leaky cvt tranny can be easily fixed with some silicon some cpvc piping and half a brain. If you like Honda go and get one, but dont try to tell me how Honda is now making "over the top" atvs when they consistently come in last in every categorized use.

RE: Honda Finally did it

found that the Rubicon/foreman/Rancher models all have Power Steering as an option. That to me would make the Rubicon a good candidate for trail machine. Adding IRS would put it over the top. Honda has a long way to go with their utility line up to shake the lawn tractor atv image i have of them. A good solid product yes, but years behind in performance. Even if your idea of a utility atv is hauling a moose out of the woods or plowing a long drive the big twins on the market do it much better, in other words no advantage goes to Honda as a work horse either.
